Security Officer

Job Type Full-time Description POSITION: Security Officer DEPARTMENT: Safety/Security REPORTS TO: Safety/Security Manager FLSA STATUS : Non-Exempt Job Summary: Responsible for patrolling premises regularly; monitoring entrance of vehicles and people onto the center and maintaining a safe and secure environment.

Duties: Ensures the enforcement of all laws, rules and policies within scope of authority.

Foot patrols all assigned areas and remains alert for disturbances, fires, safety hazards, traffic violators, suspicious acts and/or persons and other unusual conditions.

Aids and assists visitors, students and staff as needed.

Performs building security and safety checks and records electronically.

Performs a daily shift log and disperses the log electronically to center management.

Provides transportation service as needed.

Issues vehicles to staff for official business.

Issue’s visitor passes, and temporary parking permits.

Enforces visitation rules and regulations.

Monitors main entrance.

Prepares written accident reports and other reports as required.

Assists the Safety and Security Manager in safety functions.

Assist staff with student behavior.

Maintains accountability of the department’s equipment on assigned shift.

Provides vehicle checks to entering and exiting traffic.

Follows the CDSS/CSS/BMS plans and procedures daily.

Adheres to required property controls policies and procedures.

Complies with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.

Maintains good housekeeping in all areas and complies with safety practices.

Models appropriate employability skills for dress, language, and work habits.

Participates in PRH mandated staff training.

Performs other duties as assigned within the individual’s scope and capabilities.

Requirements Qualifications: Experience: Two years related experience.

At least one year in a residential living setting and background in youth programs or law enforcement is preferred.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Associate Degree preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid State Driver’s License.
