– 6p) You Will Be Responsible For: Proactively patrols assigned areas and performs all security related tasks, ensuring life safety standards are maintained, suspicious activity or persons.
Investigates and/or reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to Security Operations Center and keeps Supervisor apprised of unusual activities and events.
Patrols assigned areas to provide security presence.
Unlocks buildings/doors after checking identification and compliance with Hospital policies; properly utilizes and maintains all issued and operated equipment.
Learns applicable systems and responds to fire alarms at facilities during actual alarms and drills.
Conducts helicopter fire prevention assessment and provides emergency response to helicopter fires.
Maintains appropriate communication with Supervisors, Security Officers and Security Operations Center to report crimes, incidents and safety related irregularities.
Monitors vehicle and pedestrian traffic on or in Florida Hospital properties.
Interviews and investigates individuals involved in suspicious or illegal activities.
Detains unauthorized individuals as defined by policy or state law and releases them to the proper authorities.
Maintains K9 maintenance, handler training logs, and provides K9 husbandry and care while on and off duty.
Must provide a secure safe environment for K9 while off duty.
Housing area and enclosure must be pre-approved by Security Investigations Manager.
Qualifications What You Will Need: Associate’s degree in security or law enforcement, OR Technical college certificate in a criminal justice or related field, OR One year of security, military, or law enforcement experience State of Florida Class E driver’s license and driving record in accordance with Florida Hospital policy Preferred ….
Two (2) years of experience in K9 training Two (2) years of experience in K9 Handler International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Training certification Basic Life Support (BLS) certification MOAB International – Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Personal Safety Training, Inc.
– Handcuffing, or equitable national certification Personal Safety Training, Inc.

– Baton, or equitable national certification TASER International – Conducted Electrical Weapon Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) training certificates Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) K9 Handler training certification North American Working Dog Association (NAPWDA) K9 Handler training certification Job Summary: The Security K9 Officer II performs security service duties through professional and positive interaction with the public, patients, employees and administrators.
Responds to a variety of calls, provides assistance in emergency and non-emergency situations.
Investigates and documents (both electronically and written) safety hazards, incidents and criminal activities.
Patrols designated areas to ensure the protection of the public, patients, employees and property of AdventHealth.
Accountable to the department’s chain of command for initiative, judgment and general competence exhibited in the performance of assignments, calls for service, and day to day general duties.
Deters crime and aggressive behavior, engages in public relations activities, and performs searches for weapons and explosive devices; and provides basic K9 husbandry duties as assigned.
