We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist with experience in immunology/molecular biology and/or bioengineering to join our Drug Discovery team.
The successful candidate will join us at our research facility in Agoura Hills, CA and work in a dynamic, fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
In this role, you will design, characterize, and develop novel therapeutic molecules that will advance A2s innovative Tmod cell therapy platform towards the clinic.
The candidate will be part of a highly collaborative cross-functional team of scientists, leading efforts to discover and develop transformative cell therapies.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Collaborate with the Research Team and lead cutting-edge drug discovery programs to advance the Tmod cell therapy platform.
* Design and execute creative cell-based assays to improve screening of novel CAR-T cells and move them towards the clinic.
* Work both independently and collaboratively to identify and solve critical issues, strategize, and drive research programs forward based on project timelines and goals.
* Contribute to A2s long-term strategy by proposing new ideas, generating and analyzing new data, and communicating the results to senior management.
* Collaborate to select, profile and advance clinical candidates in a scientifically rigorous manner.
* Stay current on the state of the immunotherapy field and participate and present in internal and external scientific meetings as necessary.
* Contribute towards submission of patents and manuscripts for publication as necessary.
* Train and mentor Research Associates.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
* PhD in science including cell biology, immunology, bioengineering, biochemistry or a related discipline
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
* Hands-on laboratory experience with mammalian cell culture (required), cell-based assays, flow cytometry and multiple immunological techniques; experience with molecular biology techniques will be useful, including CRISPR/Cas9
* Familiarity with biochemical methods, such as ELISA, AlphaLISA, Biacore, and western blotting
* Experience with mouse models and blood and tissue processing; experience with model development
* Ability to think critically and demonstrate problem solving skills
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, collaborative environment
* Self-motivated, detail-oriented, able to multitask around various projects, and have the desire to deliver results with urgency
