SANITIZER

Genera l Description:

The Sanitizer I is responsible for ensuring equipment is cleaned and sanitized according SOP’s to prevent contamination that would negatively impact the quality of our products.  Failure to perform duties according to SOP’s can result in rejection and scrap of entire compounding batches and or production runs.  All work must be carefully and attentively performed and documented to meet requirements set by our customers and by the FDA. Anything less than complete compliance in these areas, may result in significant liability to the company and the company’s reputation. Sanitizers must be capable of consistently performing a thorough job in a wet and sometimes hot environment.  Maintaining a safe working environment and complying with safety rules. Must be able to work in an environment where their work is closely reviewed with a minimum of error.

Specific Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Promotes a safe working environment and adheres to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures, company safety rules, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) in line with the company’s objectives and policies at all times.
  • Follow written procedures for the sanitation and documentation of equipment. Demonstrate adherence to safety practices.
  • Demonstrates a consistency in performing assignment right the first time quality standards.
  • Become proficient at lock out tag out procedures
  • Follow job assignment set by Lead Sanitizer
  • Become proficient verifying that parts are in good condition and report damage items to lead.
  • Complete and verify records to document all work following GDP practices
  • Inform supervision of equipment failure and schedule conflicts.
  • Follow written procedures for the sanitation and documentation of equipment.
  • Clean and sanitary in the handling of equipment and materials.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Performs general housekeeping (i.e. sweeping and mopping the floors, taking trash out, cleaning the drains, exc.)

Performs other duties may be assigned by Compounding Management

Job Requirements:

Physical Requirements:

  • No allergies or sensitivities to chemicals that preclude the handling of materials or personal protective equipment.
  • Long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, or kneeling.
  • Capable to perform lock/out tag/out and tank entries.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in process manufacturing; preferably in cosmetics process manufacturing or an FDA regulated industry.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude to understand the use of Compounding equipment.
  • Basic understanding of Compounding equipment, procedures, practices, and issues based on hands-on experience.
  • Basic knowledge of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
  • Strong English communications skills: speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Basic math and analytical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Basic PC Knowledge i.e. MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is preferred.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player
  • Good attendance record.
  • Must be able to maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work area. Maintains housekeeping in conformance, Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP’s), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
  • Self-Management: Display initiative, effort excellent organizational and planning skills, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.
  • Teamwork: Build and sustain cooperative working relationships and has strong leadership skills and ability.
