Safety Specialist

We are searching for the first Safety Specialist to join our team, reporting to our COO.

In this role, youll have the opportunity to create a safety program from the ground up.

Candidates must have direct experience creating and leading safety measures in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

This role is based in New York City, with regular travel to all of our facilities.

Initially you will spend a few days per week in our flagship processing facility in Teterboro, NJ.

What Youll Do: Create, implement, manage, and monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable requirements.

Evaluate the organization’s procedures, facilities, and equipment by conducting inspections to identify unsafe conditions and to implement safeguards and solutions.

Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly.

Ensure the organization complies with all current safety regulations and that all employees are aware of safety requirements and are prepared to follow safety procedures.

Collect data and reports on all safety and accident events.

Track and document accidents to understand causes and recommend changes to prevent future accidents.

Responsible for fire prevention, resource conservation, and other safety related activities.
