Runner

ATLA, an Enrique Olvera project moving to the west coast is currently seeking experienced Runners to join their opening team.

Task and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the expo, service staff and bussers to deliver food from the kitchen to guests.
  • The ability to explain and assist any questions the guests may have in reference to our menu.
  • Assist in supporting servers, bartenders and fellow coworkers to ensure smooth service for guests.
  • Attend daily pre-shift with Manager(s) on duty to review what is expected of service before the shift starts.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all respective menu items, prices, preparation method/time, ingredients and quality standards of taste, appearance, and texture, serving temperatures, portion size, garnish and method of presentation.
  • Strong attention to detail on the plate before the dish leaves the kitchen.
  • Always repeat the table number, seat position and dish back to the expo before leaving the kitchen.
  • Accurately deliver food to the correct table, seat number, and modification(s) if applicable.
  • Responsible for table set up and maintenance of the dining room as well as its perimeters.
  • Responsible for assisting servers, bartenders, and bussers in pre-bussing, clearing, cleaning and resetting tables in the restaurant and bar tops throughout service.
  • Responsible for ensuring silverware and glassware are always available throughout service. This includes bringing clean silverware and glassware from the dish station, polishing, and restocking back to appropriate places.
  • Keep all service and working area clean and dry to avoid slips and injuries
  • Follow and complete daily checklists for opening and closing side work duties.
  • Maintain an excellent level of cleanliness in all areas of service. This includes having respect for common areas shared with other employees of the restaurant.
  • Act with integrity, honesty and knowledge to promote company culture.
  • Communicate guest requests/issues to manager when needed.
  • Maintain a hygienic and safe environment at all times.
  • Perform inventory responsibilities daily.
  • Report the breakage, loss or theft of any restaurant property
  • Update job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.
  • Adhere to all company procedures as it pertains to personal appearance, attendance and conduct

Physical Demands

Requires standing for extended periods, walking, pushing, lifting up to 40 pounds, bending and reaching, stooping, using fingers and hands, kneeling, or crouching.

 

Position Requirements

  • 1 year’ experience in a similar role at a fine dining high volume restaurant
  • Ability to work a variable schedule, including weekends, and shifts from morning through late night

Compensation: Hourly ($16.78+ Tips)
