This position is specifically for a Senior Principal level Systems Engineer to provide engineering leadership to the systems, software, integration & test, and technology transition teams as part of the F18 Global Strike Radar department.The highly qualified candidate should possess career experience in technology development and demonstrate technical knowledge in radar algorithm/mode techniques.

The position will influence the technical performance of all Systems Engineering activities and will assume the responsibility of all engineering decisions impacting system development, integration, verification, and work products delivery while ensuring the product meets all technical specifications, operational requirements and customer expectations.

Successful candidates, once fully cleared to work in the area, should expect to be immersed in a fast-paced, team-based, and challenging technical environment where an individual with talent and initiative can stand out and thrive.Responsibilities include:Establish a technology development vision and construct a plan to achieve goalsCreation of all SE work products and associated analyses that document the system designEnsuring systems engineering (SE) technical integrityGeneration and review/approval of all technical CDRLsProvide technical direction to the teams and support the professional development of team members and ensure senior technical personnel ” Pass on” knowledge to more junior personnelDevelopment of mathematical algorithms for signal processingPerformance predictions and analysis of data received from sensors on various platformsPerform technical and programmatic presentations to both internal and external customersTechnical team leadership participating in technical peer reviews throughout the product lifecycle of design, development, integration and test, and flight test activitiesParticipate in design reviews, gate reviews, trade studies and other program/customer reviews as required to keep the team on trackProvide day to day direction for all engineering teams in the development and execution of the team’s scope of workSupport new/follow-on business proposals and ROMs as required by the programProvide development feedback and information back to functional organizationsInterface with the CE, IPTLs, team members, and other functions on a regular basisRequired Skills:Minimum of 10 years of Systems Engineering (or equivalent) experienceDemonstrated understanding of airborne radar systems and their principals of design, development, requirements, I& T, Operation, and/or Flight TestStrong mathematical problem solving ability and data analysis experienceExperienced with engineering analysis tools (e.G., MATLAB, Python)Experienced with collaboration tools (e.G., Git, Jira, Confluence)Strong Microsoft office skills (Office, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Ability to work independently and determine/develop approaches to solutionsExperience in preparing and delivering briefings to internal and external stakeholdersExcellent communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with program leadershipExisting DoD Secret clearanceUS CitizenshipDesired SkillsExperience with leading technical teams in advanced radar development effortsWorked a design development program using Agile Framework methodologySkilled at anticipating problems and planning to mitigate themExperience establishing and maintaining a technical baseline, and leading proactive change control of that baselineStrong technical writing and oral communication skills, experience interfacing with senior customer technical representatives and company executive leadershipHistory of influencing non-engineering functions to improve the overall success of the programExperience with software modes and data collection methodologies with the corresponding phenomenology artifactsCapability to influence technology developmentExperience writing tech volumes, bidding, and/or generating basis of estimate documentationExperience writing white papers and responding to requests for information (RFIs)Work experience with one of the following areas related to radar systems: search or track, surveillance, reconnaissance, electronic protection, electronic warfare, ID, or adaptive techniquesExperience with mentoring engineers Radar SystemsRequired Education:BS in Engineering, Sciences, or Mathematics or similar STEM disciplineDesired EducationMS in Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics, or Management or similar STEM discipline**U.S.
