RTX: Chief Engineer- Electronic Warfare Advanced Systems

The Advanced Systems Program Area requires a Chief Engineer to lead a technical team focusing on capturing new Electronic Warfare business.

Advanced Systems develops next generation EW systems in support of a wide range of US and Allied platforms.

It is expected that this Chief Engineer role will transition to a Program Chief Engineer, leading the technical team in execution of one or more contracts.

This is an exciting opportunity to work on sophisticated, cutting edge RF and digital technology, which will greatly advance the warfighters capabilities.The successful candidate will be experienced at leading hardware, software, and system development teams necessary to propose, implement, verify, and deliver EW systems.

The Chief Engineer will work closely with program, engineering, and business development management during all phases of program capture and execution and must be effective at communicating and building trust with senior management and customers.

The successful candidate must also be a proven and effective leader driving technical integrity in the engineering teams products and behaviors, while ensuring program execution to plan.RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:* Working with Program Management, Business Development, and the Advanced Systems Program Area Chief Engineer to target, identify, and shape new business opportunities.* Developing technical baselines and leading engineering content in proposal efforts.* As the programs engineering authority, providing technical leadership to a team of engineers that include leading the execution of the requirements development, design, build, integration and test activities, problem resolution, and product verification.* Establishing and maintaining the project cost and schedule baseline, providing project management reports as required and taking actions to maintain the cost and schedule commitments.* Ensuring the integrity of all engineering products, such as system plans and specifications, requirements allocation products, system architecture, design analyses, interface descriptions, vulnerability assessments, software products, verification products, and product roadmaps.* Working closely with the Program Manager and the Electronic Warfare Systems Leadership Team to ensure program is planned, staffed, and executed to plan.* Integrating across functional boundaries (Program Management, Customers, Security, Finance, Software, Systems, Hardware, Test Engineering and Operations) to resolve issues and ensure an optimal balance between cost and schedule and technical integrity.* Briefing senior management and customers on program progress and technical issues/corrective actions.TRAVEL EXPECATIONS:The position may require the ability to travel up to 25% of the time.SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED:An active/current clearance up to TS/SCI, eligible for crossover, is required.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related STEM discipline from an accredited institution.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:* Minimum 12 years system engineering (or relatable) experience in one or more of the following: architecting, designing, integrating EW systems; requires experience in RF technologies and requirements development as well as prior leadership experience, (such as SE IPTL, Technical Director, Lead Systems Engineer, Section Manager, Chief Engineer, etc.).* An active/current clearance (minimum SECRET) with a background investigation with previous 5 years* Experience developing proposals and leading proposal teams* Experience leading diverse engineering teams including the technical team, Government, and other contractors* Experience developing and delivering program presentations* Excellent verbal and written communication skills* Experience making effective decisions in order to resolve issuesDESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:* An active/current TS/SCI clearance* Experience with Open Communication Subsystem (OCS) and Open Mission Systems (OMS)* Experience with modern software architectures and modern software development* Experience using DOORS, Rhapsody, MagicDraw or other requirements management and system architecture tools* Experience with virtualization and containerizationWork Location Options: Goleta, CA; El Segundo, CA; McKinney, TX 188862Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
