RN – TRU

Responsibilities

Under direct supervision, theprimary responsibilities of the RN in the TRU (Transitional Recovery Unit)include the direct nursing care of patients, utilizing the nursing process; thedevelopment and application of leadership, management, and communicationconcepts, teaching of patients and staff; maintenance of professionalstandards; ability to assume the charge nurse role for the unit in the steadand/or absence of administrative staff. Participate with health team membersfor problem solving in area management. Assist in the development andimplementation of standard, method and tools to improve patient care. Candidatemust be able to function with a minimum of supervision and be highly motivatedto provide excellent care and patient advocacy.

Qualifications

At least 2 years of Clinical skills applicable to nursing specialty, Med/Surg/tele.

Writing skills to accurately document the operative procedure with all interventions; i.e., drug and supply dispensing, equipment measurements and team member presence.

Skills in setting priorities, organizing workload effectively and integrating multiple assignments with multilevel personnel.

Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with interdisciplinary team.

Demonstrated ability to direct nursing practice and prioritize problem solving.

Skill in speaking the English language with excellent medical/surgical terminology.

Candidate must also be telemetry certified.

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN or MSN degree required. Current and valid California RN license required. Current BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.

Official Transcripts and/or original diploma from a registered nursing program must be provided upon hire.
