Job Description Full Time/Part Time The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing direct care to oncology patients. This role provides patients with safe, quality care throughout their treatment and disease process as effectively as possible at all stages from, diagnosis to end of life. Helps patients manage and live with diagnosis. Responsibilities Administer Chemotherapy, hydration, and other medications under the direct supervision of a physician Good understanding of Pharmacology Performs assessments on patients Participates in activities to plan, measure assess and improve the quality of patient care Demonstrates knowledge of ambulatory infusion pump use and maintenance Draws blood via port catheter or PICC line Maintains clean work environment at all times Maintains skills, knowledge, and currency in administration of chemotherapy. Educates patients and their families about chemotherapy side effects and controlling ongoing symptoms such as mucositis, dysphagia, diarrhea. Schedules chemotherapy, hydration in the EMR Key Competencies Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Demonstrates exceptional assessment, critical thinking, and customer service skills Ability to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses Ability to seek out resources independently and work collaboratively Ability to collaborate, set priorities, and organize work to meet deadlines, ensuring compliance with established processes, policies, and regulations Ability to multitask efficiently Qualifications Current California RN license Current CPR/BCLS certification ONS Certification preferred Excellent IV skills Access port-a-caths and picc lines Basic typing, keyboard and computer skills Great Customer Service Skills Medical Terminology- Oncology/Hematology Specific Previous Oncology/Hematology experience preferred Company Description Oncology and Hematology Specialists Company Description Oncology and Hematology Specialists
