Grant Thornton’s team of risk specialists helps businesses effectively manage strategic, compliance and regulatory risks.*Advisory IT Risk Experienced Associate**POSITION SUMMARY:*The IT Risk Experienced Associate is responsible for delivering a range of IT-oriented risk advisory projects to multiple public and private company clients across a variety of industries.

Responsibilities include planning, executing, and reporting on internal control and internal audit engagements that develop, assess, or help improve the design and operating effectiveness of IT risk management and internal control activities.*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:** Applying knowledge of IT trends, systems and processes, evaluate findings for significance and risk, and develop recommendations for improvement based on leading practice.* Obtain an understanding of clients’ business, objectives, strategy, operations, processes, IT systems, and controls.* Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and perform services.* Work closely with Grant Thornton managers and partners to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues.* Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives portraying knowledge and confidence.* Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality.* Understand and manage firm risk on audits and proposals.* Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization).* Other duties as assigned.Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities *** Well-versed in consumer protection principles, Compliance Management Systems, compliance risk management, consumer protection laws (TILA, ECOA, RESPA, Flood Insurance, HMDA, FDCPA, FCRA, UDAAP, TISA, EFTA, EFAA, SCRA, MLA, Privacy, etc.)* Deep understanding of banking consumer protection laws and areas such as Fair Lending, Unfair or Deceptive Acts or Practices, Truth in Lending, Truth in Savings, etc.* Proven understanding of consumer financial products and disclosures, including transaction accounts, savings deposits, time deposits, prepaid cards, mortgages, home equity loans/lines of credit, credit cards, auto loans, student loans, personal loans/lines of credit and overdraft services.* Knowledge of operational processes, systems, and controls relating to consumer financial products* Practical experience involving compliance testing, compliance audits, compliance training, data analytics at banks and financial institutions of various types and sizes* Familiarity with CFPB, FDIC, FRB, OCC, and NCUA compliance examination procedures* Strong oral communication, written communication, organizational, technical and analytical skills* Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills* Ability to work independently, with moderate supervisionQualifications* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Information Technology, Risk Management, or related field.

An advanced degree is a plus* 4 to 7 years of relevant work experience working in compliance, risk or internal audit departments at commercial/retail banks or other financial institutions, in a similar consulting practice, or as a financial services regulator* Proven technical ability handling compliance issues* Compliance risk management, audit, or risk management, background highly preferred* CRCM certification preferred* Prior relevant consulting experience preferred* Excellent verbal, oral and written communication skills* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills* Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects concurrently* Ability to work additional hours and/or travel as needed, with travel requirements up to 75%.Additional Information *** Seeking candidates in Arlington, VA (Washington, D.C.
