Essential Functions and Primary Duties:
- Provide oversight of core actuarial deliverables
- Assist in the analysis and quantification of risks
- Assist in determining the level of contributions required to finance pension, health care, and social insurance programs
- Provide expertise in evaluating pension plan liabilities
- Design creative ways to reduce the likelihood of undesirable events
- Decrease the impact of undesirable events that do occur
- Perform cost-benefit analysis of proposed activities
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Eight or more years of pension actuarial experience
- Possesses highly advanced and broad understanding of actuarial principles, practices, and procedures
- Expert knowledge of pertinent laws, regulations, and actuarial standards
- Expert use of applicable technology
- Proficient use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and enterprise communication and travel solutions (Concur, Skype)
- Experience performing work that requires initiative and leadership skills
- Experience in coaching and teaching others
- Enrolled Actuary (EA)
- Effectively represents position on issues to gain support and buy-in from others; works to achieve win-win outcomes that others can accept
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional development by proactively seeking opportunities to develop new capabilities, skills and knowledge
- Develop innovative approaches to address problems and drive continuous improvement in programs and processes
