Resident Aid / Detox Tech – AM Shifts, Weekends

Sanctuary Treatment Center is currently looking for Resident Aids / Mental Health Workers in Tarzana!

This position is responsible for providing direct service to clients, and for facilitating the smooth day-to-day operation of the program.

This position collaborates as a member of the multidisciplinary team (Treatment Team) to deliver effective treatment.

AVAILABILITY

We are currently looking for:
PART TIME, Saturday and Sunday AM shifts Must be available weekends and holidays
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients Review treatment plan goals with clients regularly Support clients in accessing community resources Assist clients in maintenance of prescribed medication Provide effective crisis intervention Teach independent living skills effectively Demonstrate active listening skills Prioritize daily tasks Utilize individualized approach to client services Provide information (verbally and in the communication log) to staff during shift transition Support team members when a crisis occurs Be aware of and eliminate stressors in the facility Be aware of potential crisis and manage the program to decrease crisis Identify, prioritize, and resolve problems accurately and efficiently Prepare and facilitate groups as assigned Prioritize daily tasks and perform effectively Manage program to ensure clients feels safe and secure Manage time effectively to carry out daily job duties Is present at and oversees client activities Ensure completion of household chores by clients Ensure facility is clean, safe and in compliance with Community Care Licensing requirements.

Complete all charts, program documentation, medication management, incident reports and other forms/reports are completed according to company policies Timely (within 72 hours of provided service) Correctly follow procedures Complete at least 20 hours of continuing education per year Create, enforce and maintain chore schedule of the residents.

Responsible for completing all housework chores residents are incapable of completing.

Ensure clients are out of bed at required times, and enforce curfew.

Enforce visitation hours, and monitor visitors to ensure only authorized visitors are present.

Monitor offsite activities including meetings, gym, appointments etc.

Lead clients in organized activities.

Enforce and monitor client phone usage according to the policy and procedure manual.

Administer drug and alcohol screenings on clients.

Maintain knowledge of job functions within the organization.

Ensure clients attend all scheduled groups, and therapy sessions.

Orient new clients to the facility, and ensure the clients understand the material, and signs all required intake documents.

Monitor the clients administrating medication, and input the required information into the system.

Maintain a consistent, and open channel of communication with the Program Director and Clinical Director.

Qualifications
At least 18 years of age.

High School graduate or possess a GED.

Coursework in counseling, psychology, or social work One year full-time experience working directly with clients in a program serving people with mental illness.

Knowledge of and belief in the principles of client centered treatment.

Knowledge of medications and interventions Experience working with substance abuse/mental health preferred Currently registered with either CADDE or CCAPP preferred or willing to obtain upon hire for our substance abuse program Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team player.

Excellent communication skills both oral and written Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and personal automobile insurance.

Pre-Employment Requirements
Hiring is contingent upon completion of a Background Check, TB test, and clearance on a drug screen and pre-employment physical.

Current First Aid and CPR certification or willing to obtain upon hire.

For the mental health program additional requirements include receiving DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance or an exemption and a submission of a signed Criminal Record Statement (LIC 508).
