Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS) Engineer

Job Tasks:

Establish and manage the detailed RAM Management Plan and System.

Develop project specific approaches to management of RAMS activities and demonstration of compliance with standards EN50126, EN50128 and EN50129 Application of MIL-HDBK-217F (including Notice 1 & 2), along with other applicable standards Conduct fault analyses to define safety and reliability requirements.

Provides detailed reliability and safety/fault analyses using FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) to demonstrate that safety and reliability requirements have been achieved.

Break down complex vehicle systems to identify likely fault/failure modes and determine hazard level of each defined failure mode through quantitative analysis of failure severity and frequency.

Qualifications:

BS in Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Engineering or related field Background in railroad manufacturing industry System Engineer/Integrator with analytical background Have a solid understanding of Military Standards and Technical Specifications An in-depth knowledge and experience of fault analysis techniques, processes and tools Must demonstrate extensive technical expertise and application of RAMS principles, concepts, theories and practices Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
