ResponsibilitiesIn this position, you will be responsible for delivering the Nutrition element of the UCLA Ornish LifestyleMedicine Program and monitoring the nutritional adequacy of each participant.
Thisposition serves as the backup to the regular, career RD2.
The RD
– Per Diemwill provide the following on an ‘as needed’ basis: Nutrition education,counseling, and coaching to participants in accordance to the Ornish Program’s Nutritionprescription and guidelines; baseline nutrition consultation that addressespertinent nutrition related clinical or psychosocial needs; participantadherence or noncompliance to the nutrition guidelines; documentation on the education,consults, weekly adherence, and goals; and attends and participates in weeklyteam meetings when needed.QualificationsRequired:+ Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition+ Registered Dietitian license+ BLSPreferred:+ Experience working with heart disease, diabetes, and plant-based nutrition+ Experience in coaching individuals in making sustainable lifestyle changes+ Knowledgeable about research and the role of dietary factors in heart disease, and exhibits an ability to explain these concepts clearly to participants+ Excellent public speaking skills and knowledge of adult education+ Excellent interpersonal communication skills with sensitivity to participant needs+ Excellent organizational skills+ Excellent computer skills+ Desire and willingness to collaborate as a member of a high-functioning transdisciplinary team that supports personal transformationUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
