Overview
The Regional Vice President is responsible for directing, managing and ensuring the effectiveness of selling strategies, efforts and activities of Sales Representatives within a geographic region and defined territories.
Responsibilities
- Establish sales forecasts, budgets and expectations for sales representatives based on corporate budgets assigned to the region
- Manage and direct the activities and responsibilities of sales representatives
- Develop and maintain relationships with key accounts and customers in the region
- Drive key company initiatives with the account base through the sales force in the region, including the implementation of marketing strategies
- Responsible for implementing and growing strategic account business within the region
- Manage sample expenses for the region
- Participate in sales management meetings, activities and responsibilities
- Travel on a consistent basis with all territory managers
- Ensure implementation of all company sales-related efforts and initiatives
- Ensure proper and effective utilization of the performance management system and conduct all required and necessary performance reviews
- Follow company guidelines and policy with the application of performance improvement plans and disciplinary actions
- Manage all compensation-related aspects, including travel and entertainment expenses, cost of sales, commission levels, and other related areas
Qualifications
- Previous experience managing a sales group or organization in the commercial flooring or interiors industry required
- Prior experience in a field sales position in flooring or a related industry strongly preferred
- Bachelor ‘s degree preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with applicable technology including sales information systems
- Frequent, overnight travel
