Essential Job Functions

Potential applicants must be based in Seattle, but may be required to travel  50%
– 75%  outside designated region.

The Kitchen Trainer identifies and communicates best practices across all operations divisions and channels to develop and drive consistency in work processes and benchmarking standards of performance of Operations leaders.

The Kitchen Trainer is the key driver in developing and implementing a culture of continuous improvement throughout REEF. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Drive culinary aptitude in assigned region through daily validations by conducting audits, side by side development, validation ensuring team members are trained properly and certified.

 
Ensure training and launch of all new brands according to set standards established by REEF from vessel to production kitchens.
Ensure facilities remain safe and all equipment and technology are up to date and compliant with Food Safety Plans including ensuring annual analysis, update-to-date rules, and continued training.
Responsible for regulatory audits as necessary.
Audit gaps and prioritize facility needs based on common trends.
Determine resources needed at kitchens and advise Multi-Unit Manager and the Director of Operations.
Assist in root cause analysis and corrective actions as necessary.
Align with responsible manager or director to ensure internal audit programs are effective and performed at a level to ensure compliance with current REEF Kitchens Quality Policies and Procedures.
Support in preparing training materials for employee and management training with respect to GMPs, Allergens, Food Safety Plans, Hazard Analysis, Bio Security, recordkeeping, etc.
Maintain technical competency and up to date on changes in technology and the industry.
Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc.
Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.
Analyze weekly/monthly product/process cost statements & conduct cost reviews.
Examine profitability trends over product/process life cycle & compare with estimates.
Provide analytical inputs to Operations leadership on revenues, capacity utilization, costs, and profitability for planning.
Devise and implement measurement tool for monitoring performance with respect to business plans.
Responsible for leading the change process by working closely with the Site Leadership team.
Optimize available resources using capacity planning and continuous improvement to maximize productivity.
Lead, train, and monitor performance of team members to ensure efficiency in service operations and meeting of individual & group targets.
Timely and accurate completion of duties.
Other duties may be assigned and modified by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proven ability to build relationships and influence individuals at all levels in the organization to problem-solve complex issues.
Proven capabilities in managing and executing Operational Excellence initiatives in a growing and fast paced environment.
Ability to perform under pressure and lead multiple priorities with competing demands while instilling confidence in the business and demonstrating the business value of Operational Excellence activities.
Proven track record as not only as a coach/leader leading others, but also having the willingness and ability to roll up the sleeves and engage in detailed execution when required.

Must have Fast Food, QSR experience

Demonstrated leadership skills directing workflow and leading a team.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Ability to meet business needs given competing priorities.
Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Strong organizational skillsand attention to detail.
Education and Knowledge
3-5 years of relevant professional experience in operations training and restaurant operations or similar role required.
Previous experience working in safety operations within food service distribution preferred.
Associates Degree in related field preferred.
Certification in HACCP and Food Handling preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed indoors for extended periods of time including up to the entire duration of shift.
