Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics System sector is currently hiring a Special Process Supplier Quality Engineer.

This is a remote opportunity however, candidate must be located in the Los Angeles Metropolitan area.

Position requires extensive travel in the Los Angeles area.

Position also requires ability to fly commercially on very short notice to meet company commitments.

Overview:

This auditor position is an excellent opportunity for candidates that have working knowledge in one or more of the following Aerospace processes: Heat Treatment, Chemical Processes/Finishes, Nondestructive Testing, Advanced Composites, Welding, or Material Test.

Essential Functions:
Conduct Special Process audits at supplier facilities to verify conformance to Northrop Grumman Engineering and Quality standards Capable of understanding and interpreting specifications/standards/contracts Ensure effective supplier root cause and corrective action Collaborate with program management, engineering, supply chain management, and supplier management teams Travel as needed to support program initiatives
This requisition may be filled at either a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer level or a Senior Principal Supplier Quality Engineer Level.

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 5 years of quality/manufacturing experience OR a Master’s degree AND 3 years of quality/manufacturing experience OR a High School Diploma/GED AND 9 years of quality/manufacturing experience Must have a Valid State Driver’s License to operate a personal motor vehicle and a dependable motor vehicle to travel to local suppliers Ability to travel up to 100% of time
Basic Qualifications for a Senior Principal Supplier Quality Engineer:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree AND 9 years of quality/manufacturing experience OR a Master’s degree AND 7 years of quality/manufacturing experience OR a High School Diploma/GED AND 13 years of quality/manufacturing experience Must have a Valid State Driver’s License to operate a personal motor vehicle and have a dependable motor vehicle to travel to local suppliers Ability to travel up to 100% of time
Preferred Qualifications for Principal/Senior Principal Supplier Quality Engineer:
Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent Hands on experience and knowledge of critical manufacturing processes including, but not limited to, heat treatment, chemical processes, nondestructive inspection, material test, surface enhancement, welding, and/or composites fabrication Certified AS9100 Quality System Auditor ASQ Certified Quality Auditor Certified Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Level 2 or 3 Active DoD Secret Clearance (granted or renewed within the past 5 years) Experience participating in the Nadcap accreditation program Proficient in MS Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
