Quality Inspector – 1st Shift

Hours of work are 5:00 am to 3:30 pm, M – F.* The Quality Inspector will verify that incoming and in-process material meets Romeo Power drawings and Quality standards.* He/she is responsible for the inspection of material, the coordination of MRB activities, including but not limited to data input, reporting, and logistics associated with material dispositions.* This person will also administer the calibration system ensuring compliance of measurement and test equipment* The Quality Inspector will work closely with Quality Engineers to provide reports, charts, graphs etc to monitor and improve product qualityKey Roles and Responsibilities* Inspection/verification of in-process, in-house and incoming (supplier) material* Drive actions to resolve nonconforming material through the Material Review Board (MRB) process to ensure that it is identified, tracked, dispositioned, and reported* Support root cause investigation/resolution of daily quality issues on the production line and receiving* Provide data inputs to assist in quality improvement activities* Provide measurement support to identify or solve potential material issues* Trained to utilize 3D measurement equipment (example: FARO)* Audit the production-line to ensure adherence to manufacturing instruction and detect any potential escapes to the customer* Support identification and elimination of variability and deviation from nominal specification* Ability to cross-train and multi-task while understanding the business and departmental priorities* Ability to push, pull, and lift up-to 50lbs as part of the job function* Travel domestically to suppliers to improve process and product quality* Ability to read and interpret GD&T and other process specifications (example torque, etc..)* Working knowledge with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF16969* Analyze supplier quality data and partner with SQE to drive supplier quality improvements* Build relationships with cross-functional groups to identify, reduce & eliminate impacts from defects* Assist the team in developing policies, standards, processes, and documentation as necessary to ensure continued success.* To be successful,Basic Qualifications* High school diploma or GED* Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality or Production team working in a manufacturing industry* Specialists must have working knowledge of the use of inspection equipment, from hand tools such as calipers, blade micrometers and depth gages, to more advanced gages such as bore gages and CMMs* Specialist must know how to read and interpret quality documentation such as drawings, specifications, work orders, and work instructions* Working knowledge of MS office and Google docs* Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs as part of the job function* Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed* Working knowledge with ISO 9001:2015 and IATF16969Romeo Power is an equal opportunity employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws or our own sensibilities.
