Quality Assurance Analyst

We’re looking for an experienced QA Analyst to join our team to help take our Quality Assurance discipline to the next level, establishing the department’s processes and best practices. This position works closely with our Web Development team, as well as Project Managers and our UX Design group on a variety of initiatives. The QA Analyst is accountable for managing all facets of Quality Assurance and Testing activities (both manual and automated) to help ensure delivery of error-free websites and web applications to our clients. Responsibilities Serve as SME (subject matter expert) on Quality Assurance and Testing processes, tools, and standards, establishing our Best Practices and protocols Test / retest new features, requested enhancements, bug fixes, security patches, and so on, tracking them through resolution & deployment using an issue tracking system (Jira) Conduct manual testing and configure automated test scripts (e.g., Ghost Inspector) across target devices, OS’s, browser versions, and network environments using emulation tools (e.g., Browserstack) Clearly document steps taken to ensure tests can be replicated & issues reproduced Proactively learn back-end infrastructure, web development environments, new testing & technology trends, and upcoming releases Own service desk accounts (clients with minimal Support agreements) Participate in design-dev handoff sessions to familiarize with a project’s approved designs & functionality requirements, raise flags regarding potential problems, and mitigate risks Work closely with Development team, UX Designers, and Project Managers to understand each features’ purpose, expectations, and testing objectives Conduct exploratory system testing that may include: WCAG accessibility evaluations, performance assessments, and Analytics data snapshots Qualifications 3 years experience in a Quality Assurance role Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (or equivalent work experience) 2 years experience working with Jira (or similar issue tracking system), and with Git and Bitbucket (or similar source code mgmt. system) Thorough understanding of web development environments, and web hosting platforms (preferred: Pantheon, WPEngine) (AWS is nice to have) Technical familiarity with development concepts and formats such as HTML, CSS, SQL, XML, JSON, and scripting languages, and with performance testing tools (JMeter, Blazemeter, etc.) Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) process Proficient in standard office tools (e.g., Google Sheets or Excel, Google Docs or Word) Demonstrated excellent communications skills, both written & verbal Ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines, prioritize tasks, switch quickly between projects, be proactive and disciplined, and take initiative Ability to quickly learn and master new concepts, which may be business-, technical- or process-oriented, and to assimilate and integrate new processes or technologies Preferred Capabilities Agency experience is preferred Establish & document QA best practices, methods and protocols Experience working in Agile (Scrum) environments, and in a Continuous Integration (CI/CD) atmosphere Location & Availability Work from any location in the United States, available 9am – 5pm in any U.S. time zone Our office is located in sunny Los Angeles, CA. This position is available for fully remote (U.S. and Canada ONLY), partially remote (a few days in the office), or in-person in our L.A. Office.
