MV Transportation is seeking a Maintenance Quality Assurance Inspector for the division. The Maintenance Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for all completed repairs on all revenue vehicles used in service. The Maintenance Quality Assurance Inspector will have a final sign-off prior to any vehicle returning to revenue service after any mechanical repairs, inspections, or audits are performed. The Maintenance Quality Assurance Inspector must ensure operations are in compliance with State and Federal regulations and corporate and client policies.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure all maintenance personnel comply with maintenance policies and procedures.
- Oversee and maintain procedures to ensure completion of required inspections.
- Ensure proper documentation when tasks are worked over multiple shifts or with multiple personnel.
- Ensure incoming parts, supplies, and articles received are inspected to ensure they are OEM parts and manufacturer recommended materials.
- Ensure compliance with procedures for preliminary inspections, hidden damage inspections, inspection continuity, and final inspection for items repaired by maintenance personnel or subcontractors.
- Responsible for oversight of maintenance personnel training requirements.
- Perform sign-off inspections on all safety system repairs and major rebuilds
- Perform monthly vehicle audit inspections of a determined percentage of the following equipment at the division:
- Support Vehicles
- Revenue fleet
- Fire suppression systems on equipment
- Preform inspection of client files, fleet records, fluid sample records and sampling procedures, training records, fleet watch records, and DVIR records.
- Utilize inspection forms, procedures and check off sheets.
- Inspect for contract adherence, SOP adherence, training adherence, safety and OSHA adherence.
- Preform facility inspections to include: Hazmat, MSDS, SPCC, others as assigned.
- Must be able to work morning, evenings and/or weekend shifts depending on operational need.
- Must be able to meet timelines.
- Perform Facility inspections as required.
- Utilize inspection forms, procedures and check off sheets.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Talent Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of three (3) years’ experience or more in diesel repair preferably bus and or truck serving as an A or B tech.
- Prefer ASE certification in two (2) or more areas with experience in preventative maintenance, brakes systems and or a combination of training and experience in these areas.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Class B CDL with P endorsement.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Clean motor vehicle report.
- Ability to work equally in a team environment and individually.
- Proficient computer skills – windows-based computer operating systems and Microsoft Office packages.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of local training program and local operations.
- Knowledge of project specific vehicles, components and data/communications systems.
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work with all departments.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively delegate tasks and provide appropriate supervision and follow up to department staff.
- Strong analytical skills.
