We need a Purchasing Agent (Buyer)
Canton Food Company is a cash and carry wholesale food company that has an opening for an experienced Purchasing Manager for our team of professionals in Los Angeles. We offer competitive wages, good benefits, employee parking and a pension program.
Position Summary:
Purchasing (Buyer) for Beef, Pork, Poultry and Grocery Products.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
• Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms with suppliers and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery competitiveness for assigned responsibilities
• Review product performance and makes decisions to maximize sales performance as well as income performance
• Manage the quality and performance of category products
• Able to forecast procurement of category assigned and maintaining Inventory levels
• Recommend new products and product lines for our category
• Manage purchasing authorizations levels for private and national brands
Job Requirements:
Requirements:
• Minimum of 3 years in Meat, Produce and or Grocery Items
• Strong verbal and communication skills
• Fast pace, detailed oriented and multitasking
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Proven negotiating skills
• Proficient in all Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
