Propulsion Test Engineer III

Location Los Angeles, CA Description Our client is currently seeking a Propulsion Test Engineer III for a 3+ month contract position in Woodland Hills, CA. Responsibilities will include Direct Test of rocket engine combustion components and valves Direct integration of hardware and instrumentation into government-owned test facilities at Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) on Edwards AFB in CA Conduct and manage Test planning, risk assessments and mitigations, test set up execution, post-test data review, and performance analysis Coordinate test schedule estimation and execution Identify and execute schedule opportunities to move the project forward through application of basic project management principles and thorough understanding of operations and constraints imposed by AFRL Qualifications B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or other relevant field. Graduate degree preferred. 8+ years direct experience working in aerospace industry with component development and testing. 10+ years of applicable industry experience in component development and testing. Experience in a testing environment Strong technical fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics Ability to read and interpret engineering standards, technical requirements and drawings Demonstrated familiarity with data analysis Enjoy working hands on with mechanical and electrical devices Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Must be within reasonable driving distance of Edwards AFB or willing to fly, go remote for extended months, etc. to provide on-site presence. Desired Knowledge of instrumentation including pressure transducers, thermocouples, silicon diodes, resistance temperature detectors, and accelerometers.
