Product Owner

As a founding member of Oculus’ Collaboration, Productivity, Work, and general purpose computing experiences related content efforts, you will work with the most creative and innovative developers, creators and publishers in VR and AR.

You will help VR/AR developers build non-game applications that enable people to create, consume, collaborate in ways that further productive pursuits or economic outcomes.

This will include emerging VR categories such as meetings, creative tools, design tools, business apps and as yet unimagined experiences.

This is a zero to one opportunity to work on pre-product market fit ideas and create products in collaboration with external developers, stakeholders, or partners.As a Product Owner at Oculus, you’ll play a critical role in building the future of virtual reality content, and applications for productivity, collaboration and general purpose computing experiences.

You’ll engage, support, and serve as the primary product manager between Oculus and key developers and content partners.

You will manage top tier developers throughout their development cycle from concept to application launch to ongoing updates.

You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with platform products, business development, store, marketing & communications teams to ensure a world-class developer experience, and that our consumers are thrilled with the caliber of content found on Oculus platforms.

The ideal candidate has extensive XR/game development experience and experience managing third party developers.

Responsibilities
Define the product vision, ecosystem thesis to find promising use cases and product market fit for AR/VR apps for Productivity, Collaboration, Work, and general purpose computing experiences Contribute to key planning and decision making for the roadmap of the entire team Work closely with platform product management teams to land the Oculus strategy for collaboration and productivity applications Own end-to-end production and release roadmaps of development projects with top tier developers and partners.

You will be responsible for the product vision, feature trade-offs/decisions and quality of the experience delivered by the developers and partners Conceptualize interesting and achievable VR interactions suited to our brand and our team and provide both design and development feedback to developers and content partners Oversee and manage product features (including design, art, development) and milestones from start to finish, managing scope, a high quality bar, and on-time delivery with partners and developers Work cross-functionally with internal product, store, engineering, policy, legal, marketing, and PR teams to launch non-game applications for businesses and consumers Assess risk and proactively assist developers and internal teams in problem-solving Can travel frequently for partner meetings, domestically and internationally (post COVID-19)
Minimum Qualifications
8+ years of experience in product management/game development/interactive experiences development within the games, media, entertainment, SaaS, productivity & collaboration apps, electronics, technology/platform, early-stage internet/consumer technology companies Experience shipping products and/or ushering clients through product and platform launches Evangelize new and existing VR technologies with developers to ensure they experience taking full advantage of ongoing enhancements and improvements Experience partnering with and managing outside vendors Demonstrated experience with data-driven decision-making Experience building partnerships across multiple internal cross functional groups and external developers Strategic thinker with experience balancing and prioritizing short-term solutions while keeping the long-term vision in mind Experience thriving in a fast-paced start-up, juggling projects and developers Executive presence, effective communication and presentation skills Experience working independently, without significant manager involvement
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in game development with both internal and external development teams Self-motivated, enthusiastic, demonstrates initiative, flexibility, composure under pressure, and anticipates, communicates and resolves problems before they develop Thrives in ambiguity, drives toward clarity
