Role Overview
This position will gather market research from the beauty industry specifically lash, nail, and color cosmetic categories to identify trends and spur innovation for future product development. The candidate should have knowledge of the beauty e-commerce landscape and be familiar with competing brands in the market. This role will learn more about the Product Development process and how our department impacts cross-functional teams.
As a Product Innovation Intern, your responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Product Development team in research, trend analysis, and ideation of new product ideas for the pipeline
- Working closely with the Director of PD and PD Manager to learn the product development process and gain a holistic understanding of the lash, nail, and color cosmetic market
- Developing moodboards, CAs for new product concepts, weekly presentations on trend forecasting/competing brand data (e.g., new products, product categories, high-potential channels, emerging markets)
Who you are:
- Passionate about the cosmetic industry and is obsessed with all things beauty especially with keeping tabs on the up and coming trends.
- Strong research skills. Demonstrated ability to consume and synthesize large amounts of information from varying sources to present relevant information to the PD team and assist with the product marketing processes.
- Candidate should be quick to respond, thinks strategically, detail-oriented and take thorough notes during all meetings
- Ability to work and adapt to a fast-paced, collaborative environment by being flexible and empathizing with fellow team members
Position Requirements:
- Must be eligible to receive academic credit from your college or university
- Must be currently enrolled as a college student working towards your Associate’s or Bachelor’s in Beauty, Business, Management, Marketing or any creative fields
- This is a non-paid internship, with flexible hours (minimum of 8 hours per week) to reflect your necessary college credit requirements.
- Must be located in SoCal, preferably in the Los Angeles area
