Product Development Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative person experienced in product development, preferably in the consumer goods field.

We are looking for someone who is creative and has their pulse on what is trending in the market place and in pop culture.

Proficiency in Adobe CC and other design software is desired.

This position offers a lot of room for growth and an opportunity to see your ideas come to life!

You will be reporting to the Product Development Coordinators on a day-to-day basis.

Your responsibilities include:

Market Research
Be kept up to date on what’s trending and what’s popular, including but not limited to music, colors, materials, characters, movies, TV shows, viral videos, etc.

Identify trends and present to PD Manager in the form of mood boards, power point, and/or Pinterest boards.
Visit stores and take photos and notes and create presentations for the PD Coordinator and/or customers.
Creatives
Participate in brainstorming sessions with the PD Coordinator and help come up with product ideas.
Help come up with scripts and/or directives for the music studio.
Assist with creation of mood boards for new product lines.
Sales Support
Help the PD Manager prepare presentations to key customers.
Collaborate with the PD team on customer meeting preparation and follow up at the conclusion of meetings.
Create PowerPoint Presentations for sales team.
Procurement
Create Item Numbers and assign UPC
Submit PO’s to factories and track shipments.
Coordinate with Factories on upcoming shipments.

Update office with ship dates
Ensure imported items are reviewed and compared to final production samples

· Obtain and file test reports and create compliance documents (CPC)

Administrative

· Obtain licenses from music publishers and take care of all the paperwork and follow up.

· Follow-up with music publishers and licensors

· Copyright filing for each product.

· Create and maintain a system to track the development of each product.

· Maintain a system to track the development of each product.

· Track, receive, and ship packages of submissions throughout development cycle.

· Maintain a budget for product development.

· Maintain photo library of all prototype projects.

Technical Requirements:
Excellent written and oral communication skills with a strong creative flair.
Computer and software skills
– high proficiency in Outlook required.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office and other office software required.
Familiarity with Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator required.
Required Skills:
Excellent organization skills, being able to juggle multiple projects at once.
Have the tenacity for problem solving.
Work well under pressure.

· High attention to detail.

· Possess a sense of urgency and determination while continuing to accommodate the rapid changes in the product development life cycle.

Recommended Skills:
Understanding of graphic design terms.
Toy experience is a plus!
