We are looking for a person with a diverse game development background, including experience with cooperative and competitive multiplayer, as well as service-based games. We are specifically looking for experience not only with core game production to release, but also with post-launch support. This individual will manage aspects of the day-to-day development of certain external projects while coordinating with internal resources that best support the initiatives of our development partners and our products. This person will also facilitate and monitor all activities within SIE, and actively partners with all global business units and key stakeholders in regard to those products. This individual represents and evangelizes the development team products and works to maximize revenue for SIE and PlayStation Studios (PSS) partners.  This individual will also help review potential projects and work closely with the XDEV team to plan the product road map for years to come. This position will report to a Managing Director, XDEV.Principle Duties / Responsibilities:Represent one or more franchises, both internally and externally, to ensure smooth progress of projects and launch through all SIE departments, including finance, legal, marketing, public relations, QA, XDEV and operations on a worldwide basis.Responsible for overseeing all phases of the production and development process for multiple XDEV products, guiding teams to a successful launch of product.Manage and track process / project deliverables, localization assets and deliverable schedules to ensure timely completion of products.Analyze and anticipate project risk and drive mitigation strategies that help remove barriers to timely and cost-effective project completion.Anticipate and plan for the impact of projects on other systems, business units, etc. Identify and seek the support of key company personnel affected by the project.Facilitate information and workflow, typically between technical / product development and non-technical / publishing units of the company, in regular processes or on special projects and strategic business initiatives.Experience facilitating communication between multiple development and support teams, including outsourcing providers.Identify, secure and enhance relationships with global development teams, cross-regional partners, and RHQ business units in the achievement of project objectives.Contribute to XDEV project budget, schedule, milestone and cost / benefit decision-making, and track and communicate results to global stakeholders.Create and maintain project documentation in order to facilitate global projects and ensure successful completion and communication.Evangelize XDEV awareness and best practices with global development teams and cross-regional partners.Participate in planning marketing, promotion and public relations strategies for products and give input or assist, when necessary, in the development of marketing and related assets/materials to promote the productContribute to current and future departmental needs by participating in strategy and process planning with senior management.Required Knowledge / Skills:PEOPLE: Proactive self-starter, but also a team player. Strong interpersonal, facilitation, oral and written communication, and project management skills a must. Ability to listen and understand various viewpoints and help guide diverse global workgroups to common solutions. Strong cultural sensitivity and sensibility a must.PROCESS: Process knowledge, attention to detail, timely follow-up and strong organizational skills.TECHNICAL: Understanding of the technical aspects of product development. Ability to identify other business units with necessary technical knowledge and cultivate relationships.PLANNING / IMPLEMENTATION: Implementing projects in partnership with co-workers, global development teams, RHQ business units and global Sony divisions. Strong capability to multitask and prioritize. Ability to proactively handle shifting priorities and requirements.Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent direct work experience) and a minimum of 7-10 years of project management, product development or related industry experience.Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to apply creative solutions within business constraints.Must be able to prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities efficiently and effectively.Must have excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills in handling complex situations with the ability to negotiate and recommend solutions.Experience with Microsoft Outlook or equivalent E-mail client, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Internet Explorer or equivalent Web Browser required. Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Powerpoint or Microsoft Visio a plus.Project management or product development experience in entertainment or videogame industry required.You must be a passionate gamer with a deep understanding of core game mechanics and the impact and influence of design decisions. strong opinions on overall quality of execution and a deep understanding for what it takes to execute at a AAA quality level is a must.Candidates must be proactive and willing to take direction.Creativity and ‘out of the box’ thinking is strongly encouraged.Required Experience / Education:7-10 years of project management, product development or equivalent / related industry experienceBachelor’s Degree (4-year college) or equivalent direct work experiencePreferred Experience / Education:8 -12 years of project management, product development or equivalent / related industry experienceBachelor’s Degree (4-year college), an advanced degree or professional certification requiring formal trainingEqual Opportunity Statement:Sony is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
