Procurement Specialist

Description We are seeking a motivated and organized Procurement Specialist to join our team on a temporary-to-hire basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in mental health services, including Flex fund purchasing and programs for children with county benefit programs, though this is not a strict requirement. As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in procuring items for our regional offices and clients, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective operation of our organization.Responsibilities:+ Source and procure a variety of items for our regional offices and clients, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.+ Utilize negotiation and bartering skills to secure favorable pricing and terms with vendors, effectively minimizing costs.+ Manage inventory and tracking of electronics for the IT department, maintaining accurate records and ensuring availability when needed.+ Coordinate the organization, donations, and disposal of items approved by the Department of Mental Health, adhering to guidelines and regulations.+ Provide administrative and clerical support to various departments, assisting with tasks as needed.+ Collaborate with internal teams to understand procurement needs and objectives, optimizing purchasing processes.+ Maintain accurate procurement records, update databases, and prepare reports on procurement activities.+ Stay informed about industry trends, vendor capabilities, and product availability to make informed procurement decisions.+ Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures in all procurement activities. Requirements Qualifications:+ Previous experience in procurement, preferably in mental health services or related fields.+ Knowledge of Flex fund purchasing and county benefit programs for children is a plus.+ Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build effective vendor relationships.+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite and procurement software.+ Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.+ Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing requirements.+ Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.+ Knowledge of inventory management principles is desirable.+ A commitment to upholding ethical procurement practices.If you are a proactive and dedicated professional with a passion for efficient procurement processes, we encourage you to apply for this temporary-to-hire Procurement Specialist position.
