Private Duty Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Nursing Assistant-Williamsburg Area

Overview: Works under the supervision of Nurse Manager in personal care comfort measures and environmental services for the patients (including those needing special precautions).

In addition this position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served.

The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and provide the care needed as described according to the departmental policy and procedure.

Promotes and maintains safe work environment for staff as well as our customers incorporating national patient safety initiatives.

Must have reliable transportation to perform assigned home care visits.

If using personal vehicle as means of transportation must have and maintain a current valid driver’s license with proof of satisfactory driving record /history and proof of auto liability coverage as required by Virginia State law.

) may be required to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Qualifications: Education:Must have one of the following
– A) Holds a certificate of completion from an approved nurse aide training program and be registered by the Virginia Department of Health Professions as a certified nurse aide or B) Hold a certificate of completion from an approved nurse aide training with certification from another state with eligibility for endorsement by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or C) Be successfully enrolled in a nursing education program preparing for registered nurse or practical nurse licensure and have currently completed at least one nursing course that includes clinical experience involving direct client care.Experience:Previous Nurse Aide work experience in a home care settingpreferredLicensure/Certification:Acurrent valid driver’s license with proof of satisfactory driving record and history; Proof of auto liability coverage as required by Virginia State law.

Must have reliable transportation to make visits to patient’s homes each day.

BLS certification required.Due to DMV and insurance requirements you must be 21 or older to qualify for this position.

5 years of driving experience preferred.
