Molecular Innate Immunity Post-Doctoral Position
A postdoctoral position is available immediately to study novel aspects of canonical- and non-canonical inflammasome responses in macrophages in the Stehlik-Dorfleutner Laboratory of Molecular Innate Immunology. Research is focused on the molecular mechanisms regulating inflammasome responses and deciphering unique inflammasome responses in human macrophages and their function in inflammatory and auto-immune disease and during host-pathogen interaction in humans and in mouse models. Requirements
Applicants need to be self-driven, highly motivated recent Graduates with a PhD, MD/PhD or MD degree and a strong background in innate immunology or biochemistry and animal models as demonstrated by first-author publications in internationally-recognized scientific journals. Applicants with experience in biochemical techniques and immune-relevant animal models will receive special consideration. The ability to work in a team, good organizational and English language skills, as well as initiative, flexibility and good learning ability are required. Candidates need to be eligible to work and reside in the US.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Working independently but in close cooperation and in consultation with the Principal Investigator and other Research Scientist, the Research Fellow will perform routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout training period. May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols. Analyzes and interprets data. May assist in preparation of grant proposals. Participates in publications and presentations as author or co-author. Not responsible for generating grant funds, but fellowship application is encouraged.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Designs and performs experiments. Will keep appropriate experimental records and documentation and analyze the results with the Principal Investigator.
• May develop, adapt, and implement new research techniques and protocols.
• Analyzes interpret, summarizes, and compiles data.
• Performs routine and complex laboratory procedures throughout the training period.
• Operates and maintains equipment and instruments.
Educational Requirements:
Doctorate Degree – Doctorate (MD, PhD, VMD, or DDS) in area directly related to field of research specialization.
Licenses:
No license or certification required
Experience:
1 year – Acquires thorough technical and theoretical knowledge of research project and objectives during one to five (1-5) year post-doctoral appointment.
