The Chute laboratory studies hematopoietic stem cells and the regulation of hematopoietic stem cell fate through the microenvironment, or niche. Our laboratory also studies the mechanisms that govern malignant transformation of hematopoietic stem cells to leukemia stem cells. The Research Associate II in the Chute laboratory will utilize state-of-the-art molecular biology techniques, genetic models, imaging and quantitative assessments of hematopoietic stem cells and their progeny in order to discover and characterize novel mechanisms that control hematopoietic stem cell fate. In keeping with this, the Research Associate II will also be involved in the design of therapeutic targeting studies using small molecules or custom – designed antibodies to promote hematopoietic regeneration in vitro and in vivo.
