Research Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering

The University of Southern California, one of the nation’s top universities, invites applications for a full- time, non-tenure track Research Associate Professor in the Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering within the USC Viterbi School of Engineering. Candidates will conduct research focused on testing of construction materials and structures. The ideal candidate will have an extensive background in experimental methods in construction materials and structural engineering. Examples include testing of 3D printed structures, FRP strengthened structures, fresh concrete and hardened concrete, and fiber-reinforced concretes, among others. The candidate should hold a doctoral degree in civil engineering or related fields. Candidates have published in respected journals. A good understanding of testing standards and design guidelines/standards is preferred. Although not required, a professional engineering license will be beneficial.
