Per Diem RN- Community Oncology Practice

ResponsibilitiesUnder supervision of the Director of Nursing or Medical Director, provide direct nursing care, infusion therapy and documentation to patients in the Community Oncology Practice.

Major functions include: patient assessment, patient evaluation and preparation and administration of chemotherapeutic agents and other intravenous drugs, patient education and psychosocial support.QualificationsBSN or MSN, requiredcurrent California RN license.

requiredcurrent valid BLS from ARC or AHA, requiredONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certificationKnowledge of the Oncology patient population and practice operationsKnowledge of all aspects of infusion therapy in an oncology settingExcellent blood withdrawal and IV skillsKnowledge to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to PhysiciansSkill in usage of medical diagnostic equipment, as well as working knowledge of instruments and supplies required to perform necessary blood tests and provide infusion therapySkill in performing with frequent interruptions an/or distractions including the ability to accept equivocal circumstances and respond to changing priorities and deadlinesAbility to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference, and hostilityAbility to maintain confidentiality and to work with sensitive and confidential information using discretion and judgmentAbility to push, pull or carry 30 pounds or moreWilling and able to travel to ALL Hem/Onc Community practicesUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
