Luxury women’s wear company looking for a seasoned pattern maker to work directly with the designer on producing quality ready to wear garments. Job Description
– Will create first patterns and make amendments.
Will work from blocks, start from scratch and drape on the stand
– Will create development and production ready oxo patterns
– Will work directly with founder on sketches to bring new styles to life
– Will create spec sheets for domestic production houses; tech sheets for overseas manufacturing
– Draft, drape and create final pattern
– Attend fit meetings
– Work with grader and production coordinator on answering any questions related to fit, design and quality control Experience
– Must have strong construction knowledge, draping and a great sense of design and fit
– Ability to create patterns by hand and using computerized systems
– Knowledge of grading rules to ensure consistency in fit
– Great organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
– Great technical skills with an ability to use drafting tools
– Experience working with domestic and international apparel manufacturers
– Must speak English; Spanish is a huge plus Huge Plus
– Experience sewing and cutting silk on the bias
– Experience working with denim This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to start with a company in the early stages.
