The

Patient Coordinator

is responsible for performing a variety of customer service and patient care tasks to ensure a positive patient experience. Ensures documentation and patient records are prepared and organized. Ensures patients have a clear understanding of what to expect during and after their appointment.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone.Will perform patient registration in various systems.Answers all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.May collect monies for time-of-service patient responsibility.May be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization.May perform preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures, which may include medical history.May transport patient to/from the exam room.May assist in patient transfer on/off the exam table.May transport patient to/from the exam room.May provide the patient with preliminary and post-procedure instructions.Work Area & Supply PreparationIn the mobile setting, may assist in preparing the unit for transport.Will maintain a clean and organized work area.May order supplies and ensure the work area is properly stocked.DocumentationWill ensure accuracy of patient records.May schedule patient appointments and obtain insurance verification and/or authorization.May prepare medical records for physicians, patients and customers.Ensures accurate documentation of patient visits in various electronicsystems and on written documents.May assist the clinical staff with documentation and image delivery to the patient, physician, or contracted customer.Performs all duties within HIPAA regulations.Other duties as assigned.Position Requirements:High School Diploma or equivalent experience required.For Mobile Radiology and Oncology, CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire.For Fixed Radiology, CPR Certification is a plus.As applicable, valid state driver’s license required.Ability to work at several locations required.Organizational and multi-tasking skills.Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.Local travel may be required to support multiple sites.The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment.All candidates who accept an offer for employment will be required

to successfully complete a pre-employment background check and drug screen as a condition of employment.PreferredSix months customer service or related experience and/or training.Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.Physical Requirements:The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit. The employee may be exposed to a strong magnetic field or radioactive material. May be exposed to blood/body fluids and infectious disease and environmental hazards such as exposure to noise, and travel.More than 50% of the time:Sit, stand, walk.Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs.See, speak and hear to be able to communicate with patients.Less than 50% of the time:Stoop, kneel or crawl.Climb and balance.Carry and lift (ability to move non-ambulatory patients from a sitting or lying position for transfer or to exam).Residents living in CA, WA, Jersey City, NJ, NY, and CO click here
