Job Summary:The Project Hire Editor supports the Franchise Content Creative Publishing team.
The project anticipated timeline 12+ months.
You will report to the Senior Manager Product Development & Curriculum.Responsibilities:Learning Best Practices:Apply knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum development and instructional design to product development and review, across multiple media formats.Apply knowledge of language arts, mathematics, science, social studies and social-emotional learning best practices to product development and review, across multiple media formats.Disney Knowledge:Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of franchise strategy across the company.Demonstrate a strong understanding of franchise, character, world, and voice.Manage relationships and secure franchise approvals as needed.Content Review:Provide curriculum and editorial direction on domestic and global licensee submissions, ensuring quality, accuracy, appropriateness, fulfillment of learning objectives, and proper inclusion of Disney franchises.Content Creation:Participate in ideating, brainstorming and creating proof-of-concept for new content.Manage development process for green-lit projects.Collaboration:Drive growth of Disney Learning by collaborating with licensees, external content developers, Art, Design, and Franchises to guide creation of compelling learning content for appropriate age and development levels.Branding:Establish and enforce editorial and branding guidelines for learning licensees.Basic Qualifications:Minimum 3 5 years of experience in teaching or educational publishingAdditional experience in subject-area teaching and/or creating subject-specific learning materialsKnowledge of Disney family of franchisesUnderstanding of copyediting skillsKnowledge of publishing process and both digital and print publishing formatsAbility to prioritize, multi-task, manage resources across multiple projects, and meet tight deadlinesHighly motivated, productive, and detail-oriented, with exceptional organizational skillsPatience and flexibility, and the ability to collaborative creatively with external and internal partnersPreferred Qualifications:Experience with licensed publishingExperience with science learning for children ages Pre-K through 3 years oldRequired EducationBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience Additional Information:Disney offers a rewards package to help you live your best life.
