Paralegal – LTPG (Entry Level)

General Summary: Position will be office based once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted.

This position is eligible for remote flexibility.

The New York Office is conducting a search for one entry-level Litigation Paralegal to assist Firm attorneys on commercial cases, arbitrations, and white-collar criminal defense matters in our fast-paced Litigation & Trial Practice Group.

Candidates should be self-starters, highly organized and team players.

Overtime is often needed to meet client deadlines.

Essential Duties:
• Establishing, organizing, and maintaining pleadings, attorney trial notebooks, expert witness notebooks, document indexes and lists
• Reviewing and analyzing matters for the purpose of preparing status reports to attorneys and clients
• Participating in interviews of parties, witnesses, and experts and providing assistance with interview memos, written statements, and/or affidavits
• Reviewing and outlining depositions, indexes and summarizing documents
• Providing assistance in the trial of cases including the scheduling of witnesses and tracking exhibits
• Performing assigned legal research tasks using all available resources including libraries and computer data systems
• Proofreading and marking legal documents
• Interacting with clients and maintaining files Skills Needed to be Successful:
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when evaluating legal matters
• Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors
• Interpersonal skills necessary to establish relationships, effectively liaise, communicate, and follow instructions from the client, attorneys, staff, and vendors and provide information with courtesy and tact
• Commitment to providing superior customer service
• Operate standard office equipment such as photocopiers, fax machines and personal computers
