Position Description:
The Paralegal will provide support to the Office of General Counsel (corporate legal department) in the following areas: preparation, review, and processing of legal documents using form templates and managing special projects.
- Organizes, reviews, and maintains the Legal Department’s contracts, legal documents, and records.
- Prepares, drafts, and reviews contracts and other legal documents.
- Manages assigned special projects (e.g. subpoenas, debt collection, investigations, Legal Tracker).
- Research & monitors and summarizes assigned legal topics, legal news, legislation, and/or litigation matters.
- Prepares and files required documents for the Secretary of State and local governmental agencies.
- Organizes and maintains emails/electronic files using the Legal Department’s document management/repository system.
- Prepares and presents Cabinet Dashboards for executives and other internal stakeholders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Prefer prior paralegal experience or 3+ years of law-related experience under the supervision of an attorney.
At least one of the following:
- A paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program preferred,
- A certificate from a paralegal program, or a degree from, an accredited secondary institution which requires at least 31 semester units in law-related courses, or currently pursuing one of the above.
Hourly Rate/Comp.:
Hourly compensation is up to $30.00/hour (paid weekly).
