Packaging Operator

Function:Performs 100% visual inspection prior to packaging to ensure parts are free of F.O.D., corrosion, and/or nicks and dings. Parts arrive at packaging on work orders of 1 piece to hundreds of pieces & Operator must count the parts to ensure the quantity that arrives matches the amount stated on the work order.. There are multiple ways parts are packaged depending on material & where they are in the manufacturing process. This includes, but not limited to, oil & clear plastic bags. No oil, no handling with bare hands & placing parts in chemically treated, anti-corrosion bags, or oil & inserting in foam dividers. Once parts are bagged, they are packed in either cardboard or plastic totes with foam liners/dividers to ensure parts do not get damaged by contacting each other. Once packed, parts could be moving to another manufacturing process, going to stock, shipping to a vendor, shipping to another Moog facility, or going to build. Each box/container must be identified with a label that states the part number, work order number & quantity. Some work orders also require an I.D. tag with each part (Bag & Tag) as part of the packaging operation. These tags are generated off a computer & printer in the packaging area.Required skills:Basic computer skills (excel work doc.) and blueprint/sketch sheet interpretations are required. Must be able to interpret work instructions and specification requirements for various alloys. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds. This position will also require occasional abrasive blasting of parts (training & certification provided).Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent is requiredMinimum Years of Experience: 5 years
