Optometric Assistant

Overview:

As an Optometric Assistant, customer/patient service is priority one! You’ll assist the doctor in pretesting tasks, directly interact with patients and help in all aspects of the clinic under the supervision of an Optometrist. Your initiative and organizational skills will help keep us running at top performance, while your enthusiasm and knowledge will provide an exceptional patient experience. 

Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: acknowledge, smile and greet patients upon arrival/dismissal
  • Respond to patient questions and or concerns according to company policies
  • Answer telephones, schedule, maintain and confirm appointments
  • Collecting fees
  • Check insurance authorizations and submit as needed
  • Adjust frames for correct fit for patients
  • Manage patient communication when needed
  • Assist the doctor with patient care and pretesting equipment

All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Three (3) years of previous optical experience
  • Licensed Dispensing Optician (LDO) is a plus
  • Detailed oriented, reliable and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel
