Operations Specialist I – $1000 Sign On Incentive

Non-Exempt: The hourly salary range for this role is: $22.19/hour – $35.50/hour. POSITION SUMMARY: Provides internal client and member support as it relates to all deposit products, basic operational questions and member account maintenance. Responsible for researching and resolving internal and external member inquiries; promote advocacy by providing accurate and timely information. Fosters a culture that reinforces member service, teamwork and collaboration, financial discipline, operational integrity and efficiency. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: Consistently provides a high level of service for internal and external members, committed to achieving member satisfaction and excel in delivering a Signature Experience. Demonstrates adherence to the Department’s Service Standards in addition to the enforcement and modeling of our Mission/Vision Statement, Core Values and Team Attributes. Assumes personal accountability and ownership for maintaining high service standards, promoting advocacy and ensuring member issues are handled expeditiously. Must be able to process basic operational transactions including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and IRA distributions and contributions. Will be responsible for processing requests, verification of deposits and transaction posting for members via mail in addition to various credit union departments. Must be able to process all forms of account file maintenance including; opening all account types, closing accounts, vesting changes, account type changes, placing and removing warnings and comments, certificate renewals, beneficiary designations and various account corrections. Targets and achieves individual goals and supports department goals. Provides support, account review, and guidance to internal and external users of both membership applications, the Wescom Membership Application and New Membership Application to include an understanding of policies specific to Member Identification and basic compliance requirements. Ensures compliance with security standards, policies and procedures, and risk management measures. Maintains confidentiality of Credit Union and member records while demonstrating high levels of integrity. Protects the Credit Union’s financial interest by controlling and balancing teller totals, ensuring adherence to check acceptance rules and guidelines, verifying signatures, endorsements, displaying good judgment by adhering to policies and procedures and maintaining Teller Balancing Standards. Assists branches and departments with basic operational questions as it relates to all deposit products. Must be able to effectively and professionally communicate with members via written and telephone communication. Must also represent the department and the Credit Union at internal meetings and external training seminars in a professional manner. Ensures individual appearance and demeanor reflects the desired level of professionalism as specified in the Employee Handbook and maintains the physical environment of his/her work area according to Wescom standards. Participate in and/or attend various training courses and seminars to ensure that knowledge in operations, compliance and credit union trends are kept current. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School graduate. Previous experience in branch operations preferred, including an understanding of general operational issues and compliance. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work in a fluid environment, display excellent communication skills, both written and oral, time management skills, interpersonal skills, human relations, strong sense of team responsibility, and commitment to Credit Union’s Mission and Vision Statements, and Core Values. COMPUTER SKILLS: Should be proficient in Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and the ability to learn the basic functionality of Symitar. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
