The Gaming company has 24 offices around the world and employs approximately three thousand people.
The next big goal for the company is to make it as easy as possible for anyone in the company to use Confluents as a Service to build their next killer streaming application.
To do that client plan on offering Confluents products as a Platform as a Service.
(PaaS).
In order for this service to be successful client absolutely have to build a world class team of Site Reliability Engineers(SREs), also known as, Operations Engineers (OEs) that are passionate about running large scale, multi-tenant distributed data systems for our internal customers that expect a very high level of availability and capabilities.
If you love the hum of big data systems, thinking about how to make them run as smoothly as possible, running them as smoothly as possible and want to have a big influence on the architecture and operational design, there is no better place.
Qualifications:
Strong fundamentals in Troubleshooting Kafka(Confluent) on AWS Cloud Infrastructure (Network, Storage and Compute) Solid Experience with Kafka administration in managing critical 24/7 applications Experience in developing data pipelines Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and operations Expert in optimization & performance tuning for Kafka clusters Experience building automation to operate large-scale data systems Strong Fundamentals in AWS and Kafka Automation Identify of key performance metrics, analyze and trend cluster utilization, performance and overall health of the clusters.
Setup precise monitoring and alert for Kafka Clusters and lead multiple high priorities initiative with aggressive time lines.
Proven experience of delivering enterprise grade solutions using Kafka.
Preferred proficiency with Java Experience with Kafka Brokers, Zookeeper, Kafka Connect and Kafka Streams Experience with Linux, Process Management, Network monitoring, IO Monitoring, Memory management and theory, Linux services start/stop knowledge Importance of Network Time and Name Resolution Authentication/Authorization Experience with and understanding of data formats and serialization options Familiarity with Microservices Involvement in the Open Source Development / Community Ability to work with remote teams A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in operations teams Bachelor”s degree in Computer Science Excellent spoken / written communication
Responsibilities:
As a Confluent SRE, also known as, OE, you will be working alongside the rest of the OEs and will be responsible for the availability, performance, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning of the Confluent Service
