CWC LA has a Regional Support Office that supports all CWC LA schools.

We work with our network partners at Citizens of the World Charter Schools (CWC Schools), linking the schools in Los Angeles to CWC schools in other parts of the country

Position Overview

The Office Associate will support our schools with their operating systems and processes to enable excellent teaching and learning.

They will report to the Business Manager and will be based out of a school site in Los Angeles.

The Office Associate will support the school by leading reception duties and interaction with parents/visitors, and will execute projects that improve the school’s operation efficiency and effectivness.

Roles and Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive reception duties for the school site

Manage and maintain positive relationships with parents

Ensure visitors are aware of and follow school visitor policies

Be the initial point of contact for parents and students seeking office support

Assist with drop-off and/or pick-up duties and procedures

Ensure safe practices during drop-off and/or pick-up (e.g., follow up with parents doing U-Turns)

Assist students who arrive and students who require early release

Assist in the creation and maintenance of physical student records of enrollment

Assist in the creation of office copies and informational materials as needed

Build relationships with school administration, CWC LA school operation teams, and other key stakeholders with a focus on collaboration

Any other duties, as assigned

Support overall program compliance

Assist in the preparation of the schools end-of-year annual audits, and oversight by collecting and reviewing documentation

Assist in the preparation of the schools site visits from local county offices of education

Assist will meal service

Any other duties, as assigned

General Requirements

Maintain outstanding attention to detail and willingness to get the job done

Ensure proper handling and securing of student data to ensure compliance with Family Educational Records and Privacy Act (FERPA)

Participate in weekly, biweekly, and/or monthly check-ins with school site administration and/or the Regional Support Office (RSO)

Communicate and interact effectively with multiple stakeholders

Exhibit strong project management skills

Be adaptable and flexible

Innovate and think creatively

Have some experience working with data (strongly preferred)

Travel, as needed, for professional development opportunities

Have fluency in writing and speaking Spanish and/or Korean (strongly preferred)

Education/Training/Experience

High School Diploma (Associates or Bachelors degree preferred)

Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience

Education experience preferred, but not required

Understanding of computer software programs including office (Word, Excel, Google Documents) and willingness to learn new software programs

Knowledge of policies and procedures including, but not limited to, the recruitment and enrollment in a public charter school (strongly preferred)
