Position Description:NUMA Solutions is seeking a candidate who is qualified and experienced in educational facility construction projects to serve as a Senior Project Engineer for a large educational client within Los Angeles County with the below duties:Provides technical and engineering support to the Project Teams including Project Managers and Construction ManagersCoordinates with District staff, contractors, architects, engineers, inspectors, and consultantsParticipates in, and occasionally runs, design or construction meetingsMakes field checks on construction, demolition, rehabilitation, alteration addition or repair projects to determine compliance with job specifications, plans, established College standards, and Division of the State Architect (DSA) requirementsReads and interprets construction plans and shop drawingsAssists in preparing written materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, and guidelinesSupports development of weekly/monthly status and photos reports for project teamReviews, estimates, negotiates, and processes construction change orders and construction field ordersReviews and enforces construction and professional services contractsManages and directs contractors and outside consultants including reviewing and approving invoicesAssesses project risks and develops risk registers including mitigation strategiesFacilitates resolutions of construction and design issuesCoordinates with Architects for timely and accurate responses to requests for information, submittals, Construction Change Documents, etc.Generates and distributes meeting minutes (construction meetings, design meetings, etc.)Confirms contractor’s maintenance of record drawings prior to monthly progress payments to the ContractorMaintain project files in both electronic and paper formatReviews submittals for conformance to plans and specificationsHelp generates and drafts Proposed Board Actions (PBA)Other job-related duties or projects as assignedPrepare Scope of Work documents for solicitation of consultant and contractor services.Prepare project status reportsRequirementsMinimum Required Qualifications:5-8 years minimum recent professional experience in a similar or equivalent position involved in project or constructionBS/BA Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or related degreeAdditional qualifying experience in excess to the minimum stated above may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basisAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to take initiative and make sound decisionsPreferred Qualifications:Experience on Educational programs/projectsExperience on Division of State Architect (DSA) projectsExperience on Central plant projectsExperience on large public works programsExperience with Proliance or similar PMIS systemsProfessional Engineer License (PE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or similar credentialsBenefitsFull Time Employee, Salary to be DiscussedMedical, Vision, & Dental – 100% covered for the employee*6 days of Sick pay (Available Immediately)10.5 days of Vacation pay (Accrued)10 days of Holiday pay (9 Days Holiday, 1 Day Personal)3% Match on 401k after 1 year of service.Monthly Stipend for Cell PhoneLaptop for work purposes
