Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Position Overview
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will work will work under the direct supervision of site physician, performing various duties related to nuclear stress testing.

Performs patient care functions related to perfusion imaging and stress testing at customer sites.
Essential Functions
Perform functional and/or perfusion rest and stress cardiac studies, including processing images for physician review.

Transports equipment and supplies to customer sites using company vehicles.

Performs patient care functions related to perfusion imaging and stress testing at customer sites.

Perform daily quality control checks and calibrations on camera and completes required NRC/State documentation.

Follow radiation safety policy and NRC/State guidelines for handling of radioactive pharmaceuticals, including but not limited to conducting daily surveys of hot lab, exam room, camera and personnel.

Responsible for radiation safety in assigned location(s).

This includes but not limited to maintaining records, coordination of film badges for all clinical staff, coordination of disposal/removal of RAM waste, ordering and inventory of RAM Assisting the Radiation Safety Officer as needed as it relates to location(s) audits and maintenance of licensing.

Follow company procedure for the handling of spills and/or personnel contamination and appropriate removal, storage and disposal of decay.

Place IV and heplock for patients in states where state law does not allow the CST/CCT to perform this function.

Order, calibrating and inventorying radiopharmaceuticals needed for the day of service; assists in loading/unloading of equipment in/out of van; sets up/tears down DIS equipment in customer site.

Drive company van and follows government regulations and Company policies governing the receipt, handling, transport, use, and disposal of radioactive materials and related equipment and medical supplies.

Manage hub records and filing according to regulatory guidelines and company policy.

Perform random audits of NMTs image quality control and radiation safety.

Compile daily paperwork at customer site, including obtaining physician signature(s), photocopying, and faxing.
Qualifications
Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and patients and gain their trust and respect.

Maintain patient confidentiality in all areas Ability to react in an emergency and determine the best course of action or care for the patient.

Able to work independently and under pressure.

Must have valid driver’s license with no major violations
Education And Experience
Must have a certification or degree in Nuclear medicine.

Minimum of one-year experience performing nuclear medicine imaging procedures, specifically cardiac exams and performing quality assurance on the equipment is preferred.

Must have an active NMTCB or AART(N) license, and, if applicable, a state license in good standing American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and CPR courses.
