Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr Principal Contracts Administrator (CA) to join its team of qualified, diverse individuals, supporting its Combat Systems and Mission Readiness Division (CSMR).The successful applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s CSMR Division contracts organization and will have a portfolio in the Integrated Mission Systems Operating Unit (IMS OU).This is a virtual position with some potential limited travel.
The successful candidate will be a direct report to the IMS OU Contracts Manager and will work closely on a day-to-day basis with the OU leadership team including the DMON program manager, the OU business manager, operations manager, capture managers, and other functional teams throughout the Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the current DMON program as well as supporting the upcoming recompete from the business development phase through proposal submission, negotiation, and award.
Occasional support of other proposals and programs throughout the OU as well as across the larger organization is also available to support individual growth opportunities and surge support.
The successful candidate will deliver strong internal and external customer satisfaction, successful financial performance and risk mitigation.
Candidate’s ability to build strong customer intimacy and cross-functional engagement is a key priority to assist with sustaining and growing this important business area.
The Principal/Sr Principal Contract Administrator will serve as a subject matter expert, reviewing and approving contractual documents for protection of the company’s contractual/risk posture, satisfaction of contractual requirements and adherence to company policies and therefore a keen attention to detail is essential.
Candidate will also be responsible for executing successful contract negotiations of a complex nature and achieving targeted profit rates as well as favorable terms and conditions to assist in meeting profit and cash goals, collaborating proactively and effectively with program, technical and operations organizations in order to provide guidance and direction based upon the requirements of the contracts, change management discipline and to ensure timeliness of CDRL submissions.
The Principal/Sr Principal Contract administrator’s responsibility includes being able to share information quickly to leadership to contribute to timely decisions making.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to use critical thinking and analysis of the FAR and DFARS as well as contracting best practices to offer guidance and work cooperatively with a multitude of organizations ranging from technical, program, finance, supply chain, export and security for seamless contract administration.
The Principal Contract Administrator/Sr Principal Contract administrator will adhere to company leadership characteristics, seek out diverse opinions and perspectives, has the ability to solve complex problems by actively seeking information and new ideas from a variety of sources.
Successful candidate must also demonstrate commitment and energy to meet customer needs.
The Principal/Sr Principal Contract administrator ability to provide concise and effective communication through presentation, written documentation or e-mail format with different levels of Management is key.
