Responsibilities

About The Opportunity

This NICU new grad RN position will be assigned to the night shift as soon as the new grad program completes.

This new grad program will consist of:

  • Approximately 14 weeks of classroom and online educational presentations
  • Initial follow-up competency validation and development plans
  • Clinical rotation under the supervision of qualified preceptors
  • Ongoing meetings with the clinical nurse specialist, preceptor and others to assure progression and advancement on the continuum from novice to competent performance.

At the completion of the program, the participants will be able to:

  • Successfully handle neonatal patient assignments
  • Demonstrate a complete physical and psychosocial assessment on a patient
  • Take appropriate problem-solving actions when confronted with a clinical or administrative dilemma
  • Work cooperatively and effectively with physicians, family members and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Our program is facilitated by nurse experts with special emphasis on: clinical skills, critical thinking skills, leadership abilities, communication skills, patient safety, and professional career development.

Qualifications

Program Requirements (no exceptions)

  • Valid unrestricted RN licensed issued by the state of California
  • BLS
  • PALS
  • NRP
  • Graduate of an RN program within the last year.
  • No previous acute experience

Additional information:

  • Must be able to complete entire program with a perfect attendance record
  • Must be able to work 3 days per week after completing first 14 weeks
  • Must be able to work and train on either night or day shifts and include holidays
  • Must agree to terms and conditions of the program
