Tell me about the role: The MRI Technologist will perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging of specified anatomy for diagnostic proposes as ordered by physicians and per radiologist protocols. The MRI Technologist will perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging of specified anatomy for diagnostic proposes as ordered by physicians and per radiologist protocols. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Properly identifies, and prepares patients prior to MRI procedure. Takes patient history and screens every patient per ACR guidelines to rule out MRI contraindications and assess if patients are safe to undergo MR imaging. Works onsite radiologist for MRI screening. Performs American College of Radiology quality control Maintains all certifications and licenses Educates patients regarding MRI procedures, equipment and exam Ability to comprehend physician orders accurately and refer to radiologists or physicians for clarification and further instruction when appropriate as applicable to performing MRI exams Administers proper contrast related to patient having MRI exam per physician order Utilize PACS, EMR, LifeImage, Viztek, and other applications/information systems as needed to perform MRI exams and contribute to the efficiency of operations of the organization Assures MRI equipment up-time at the highest level for patient accessibility through coordination of service calls and repair requests Proper processing of exams through Radiant to support an expeditious radiologist report turnaround time Ability to access PACS to assist physician access to images and to burn studies to CD per patient’s request Immediately reports any malfunctions, observes potential equipment dysfunctions, safety issues and reports problems or calls for service. Responsible for patient safety beyond MRI Zone 2 at all times Escorts and keeps patients under their direct supervision and care whenever patients are beyond MRI Zone 2 Treats all patient and other proprietary information and data within the scope of the position and with complete confidentiality and security Educational Requirements: ARMRIT or ARRT for MRI. Completion of either a ARRT or ARMRIT certification program for MRI. License/Certification/Registration Requirements: ARMRIT or ARRT for MRI completion of either a ARRT or ARMRIT certification program for MRI. CRT-MRI Experience: At least 1 to 3 years of experience in MRI.
