Gather information, apply your knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional and USDA guidelines and standards in order to make a quality decision that protects the borrower and the client.
Keeps within service proposition of turnaround times (48-72 hrs.
for new, pre-approved or suspended files & 24-48 hrs.
for conditioned files).
Reviews loan applications and supporting documents in Underwriting queue to determine if borrower and/or property meets loan standards.
Updates system of record with corrections to file in Automated Underwriting System (AUS) if necessary.
Analyzes borrower’s acceptable credit capacity and collateral using an Automated Underwriting System (AUS).
Determines acceptability of borrower & property to meet requirements of policies and FHA, VA, Conventional or USDA Handbook guidelines.
Makes independent recommendations to loan applications deciding if loan meets all criteria.
Communicates decision (approval, suspend, denial) of loans to appropriate parties, including any conditions made to file as needed to Branches and Underwriting Dept.
Assistant.
Re-underwrites loans after resubmissions of additional information added to the file.
Ensures an audit trail by including documentation and comments on the file for any unusual circumstances.
