Summary: The Mold Maker IV will use their advanced skills to fabricate new Plastic Injection molds as well as modify and repair existing molds used in plastics manufacturing.
Essential Functions: Disassemble and assemble molds safely, efficiently and without damage.Produce new molds and repair existing molds.Set-up, program and operate CNC mill, manual mill, radial arm drill press, lathe, EDM and surface grinder in a safe, efficient, and correct manner to produce high quality work.Perform routine maintenance on shop equipment.Troubleshoot molds, dies and fixtures to suggest improvements or determine root cause of a problem.Repair Injection, Compression and Pultrusion molds as directed.Provide support and training to mold makers with less experience to elevate their skills.Determine efficient material removal techniques, including speeds, feeds, cut depths, tool paths and cutting tools.Utilize support software such as MS Word, Excel and Outlook.Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
